Welcome to my hearth.

Consider this my altar of expression - a virtual offering for Creation that is reverent and honoring of creativity, life & beauty. Here you’ll find me sharing about all that is moving through me.

Catching the waves of my soul's current, I am speaking my truths: stoking the fires of my heart, tending to what's living within my body, and gently stirring what's brewing in my mind.

Here at H E A R T S O N G, I share about the great journey of this life. I will be sharing intuitively and freely, and you might often find me musing on topics like creativity & the artistic spirit, singing & songwriting, the language of music & musical expression, the power of prayer + visualization, trauma healing, disordered eating & addiction recovery, personal transformation, women's health, ancestral remembrance + healing work, and the tenets of voluntaryism, freedom & sovereignty.

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, in addition to my written offerings, I will be using this platform to share my original music (listen to my first full-length album here) - the real and true "songs of the heart" that inspired the name of this publication.

H E A R T S O N G is a place where I am committed to my own truth and authenticity. I started this publication in response to the ever-narrowing confines of social media, where over the years I have slowly witnessed the retraction and self-censoring of my own voice in tandem with an ever-restrictive algorithm - observing the climate of cancel culture not far in the rearview. Within a renewed commitment to create more than I consume, I'm using this Substack as a place to share more fully of myself. If you consider yourself truly of an open mind, and if freedom of speech & self-expression are important to you, you might care to stick around and stay a while.

It's worth saying that I hold views about the world that may rub up in friction against your own. While I am striving to create harmony wherever possible in this stage of my life, my truth is more important to me than your comfort. This is not your safe space. You will not find "political correctness" here. I live within nuance & subtlety, in the wide and vast land of "grey" that sits within polarity. This is a place for people who are comfortable being presented with thoughts, ideas, and opinions they might (strongly) disagree with.

My people are people who can be present with their own discomfort and get curious about that, rather than looking for someone to blame for their hard feelings. It's ok if we don't think the same way or see eye to eye on every issue. Disagreement is normal and healthy, and our unique ways of experiencing the world are part of what makes us human. Disagreement is not bigotry. Words are not violence. If you are easily offended, this is likely not the space for you.

If these words are landing in resonance, I invite you to explore what's here. Stay if it feels good, leave if it doesn't. If you decide to stick around, I hope you’ll be inspired in some way by what you find, even if it’s just to consider an unfamiliar idea, or to think about something from a new vantage point.

Staunch declarations aside, there is a deep softness and vulnerability within me that is reflected here, and I sincerely hope that is felt by all who come this way. Let us together celebrate the multi-faceted, imperfect human being. Let us collectively create space for growth, healing, redemption, forgiveness, grace. Let us attempt to witness each other as we are, in both our failures and our glory—understanding that we all contain realms of uniqueness within us, as well as oceans of similarity.

May we allow these vast, confluent waters carry us to shore, where if we are sincere and determined, we might find soft footing on common ground.
